First menswear winner on H&M Design Award
When an occurrence never happen and then it did, history made. Now for the menswear era. Now, for the first time is H&M Design Award owned by menswear designer which never happened before. Menswear is still and always smaller and silent market for fashion comparing the womenswear. But menswear is growing and we pay more attentions on our looks and presentation. So, this is good.
Ximon Lee is the first winner H&M Design Award 2015. Why do we have to care about this Ximon Lee guy? First, because he won the award which means he got approvals from prestigious judges. The judges are Luella Bartley, design director bij Marc by Marc Jacobs; Lucinda Chambers, fashion director bij Vogue UK; Paula Goldstein di Principe, creative director; Tommy Ton, visual journalist; Angelo Flaccavento, freelance moderecensent; Justin O’Shea, buying director bij MyTheresa.com; Lily Allen, zangeres/songwriter; Ann-Sofie Johansson, hoofd design New Development bij H&M; Margareta van den Bosch, creatief adviseur bij H&M. So they are not only from retailers point of view but also the street’s eyes from Tommy Ton and musical eyes from Lily Allen.
What are on the runway? What we can expect to be available this fall on H&M stores? The collection is artsy and most of them are architectural and ‘house big’. Talking about shape shifting and the huge possibility to get noticed and snapped by all hungry street style photographers, this collection is your weapon. You will never go unnoticed. Not only that, this menswear collection is not excluded for women.
Very well deserve Ximon Lee!
