Recently, I received a new smartphone from CoolBlue (my favourite online/offline retailer for gadgets & electronics shopping) to write a review on it. The smartphone is the MOTOROLA MOTO G4 Black Lenovo with Android as the operating system. This review will be interesting because I never had an Android mobile phone before. Inside the familiar blue with orange details box from CoolBlue, I found the Motorola Moto G4 Black packaging. It is simple, almost boring. However, let’s not judging it from its cover. Inside the box, I found the smartphone, booklets and the charging cable. Headphones not included in the packaging, so make sure you buy it.
Design and Display
Let us focus on the smartphone. The Motorola Moto G4 Black is of course in all black, not that thick with its 9,8 millimetre and 5,5-inch big screen which is larger than my iPhone 6S. Some might find the design is too simple, for me, it is just perfect. Sleek and tidy. Not only the size is bigger, but the quality of the display also is not disappointing with a 1080p Full HD and 401 ppi which provide a sharp and clear image.
According to CoolBlue website, this smartphone (Motorola Moto G4) operates on Android™ 6.0.1, Marshmallow with a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 617 octa-core processor with 550 MHz Adreno 405 GPU. This hardware will guarantee the smoothness while multitasking between various apps and the faster and better in user experience. I noticed that this smartphone has no fingerprints lock, so I have to use the old lock-codes or lock pattern. Unfortunately, this Motorola Moto G4 only water repellent which mean you will kill it if you accidently drop this phone into the swimming pool.
The camera of Motorola Moto G4
Now let’s talk about the important feature of the smartphone for me as an influencer, the camera! The Motorola Moto G4 has two camera’s, the 13 megapixels rear camera with ƒ / 2.0 aperture and the 5 megapixels front camera with ƒ / 2.2 aperture, Wide-Angle lens and display flash for sharp selfies. Videos recorded in 1080p with a frame rate of 30 frames per second. I love the slow motion mode; too bad that the resolution is reduced to 540P to record images at 120 fps. The Full HD camera will come handy since I just started to explore vlogging (video blogging) and have my https://www.youtube.com/christiangertsen channel started.
Extra details on the rear camera: Color balancing dual LED flash, Professional Mode, Quick Capture, Best Shot, Tap (anywhere) to capture, 4X Digital zoom, Burst mode, Auto HDR, Panorama, Drag to focus & exposure, Video Stabilization, 1080p HD video (30 fps) and of course the Slow Motion video.
The storage of Motorola Moto G4
The 16GB storage is perfect and even better because I can upgrade the storage up to 128 GB microSD Card. Not forget to mention, it is possible to operate two sim cards on this phone, which is handy while travelling abroad and using a local sim card for cheaper data usage. I did not use to navigating Android phones, and it will take a while I think.
